Welcome to Dench
Mrs Shotton and Mrs Robinson
We have chosen to name our classes this year in honour of real life, British super heroes.
Dench is named after Dame Judi Dench - a world famous actress whose work has astounded countless audiences on stage and screen.
The Dench superheroes made a stir fry in recognition of the 28th of January, which is the year of the rooster. They worked together to make noodles with chicken and a host of vegetables. They worked quickly and safely. Well done! I think they might be inspired to try this recipe out at home under the supervision of an adult.
The superheroes demonstrated good DT skills and shared equipment really well, to make their Chinese style chicken subs.
We looked at a lamb's heart as part of our study about living things in Science.
The superheroes were really excited when they realised how easy it is to make pizza. They choose their own ingredients to make individualised products. Even teachers can learn a thing or two from their students because one the boys showed that you can chop up mushrooms quite finely to achieve make the pizza taste even more exquisite.
Making castles using different joining techniques can be quite difficult, but with care and patience the superheroes from Team Dench made it look easy. Well done to all those who helped others throughout the DT!
