Messy Play!!!! Sometimes to help us relax and to regulate ourselves we can do some messy play too!!!

PE. This term in PE we have been working on; agility, balance, co-ordination, working with equipment and in pairs too. Oguz has worked really hard and has managed to perfect his "tuck jump" at last!

D&T. This week we made Pizzas in our D&T lesson. We designed our pizzas beforehand, chose our ingredients and then had a lot of fun tasting new food and making the pizzas! Yum!

Swing time! We love our swing in the Nook, we can use it at play times and also for sensory breaks too!

Promoting independence. In the Nook we know that some pupils find working independently a challenge and learning new skills can be a challenge too. This week Oguz has learnt to tie his shoe laces for the first time and is now doing so consistently. He is also working independently too- following clear steps and using his help card if things get too tricky, well done Oguz, what fantastic achievements!

Spread the Happiness "Buy a book Day". Each pupil at Waterside was able to choose a book of their choice and Mr Griffiths purchased them as part of our Spread the Happiness Day!

Mindfulness. In the Nook we enjoy our mindfulness sessions. Relaxing our bodies and relaxing our minds. Mindfulness helps us with our anxiety and how to manage our breathing to relax our bodies- especially when we are stressed or worried.

Spread the Happiness- Chocolate Milkshake Day 12-09-2018

Today we celebrated chocolate milkshake day as part of our Spread the Happiness scheme! We chose three different brands of milkshake and had a fun time taste testing.
