Suicide Prevention

This is not a topic that parents or professionals like to consider, but unfortunately, the research shows that pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD or identifying as LGBT+ or are LAC, have a greater chance of having suicidal thoughts or tendencies.

At Waterside, we have identified Suicide as a priority for our School Development Plan for 2017-18 and are looking to help our super heroes enter their teenage years with a higher positive self image than ever before.

We are always available to listen and we ensure that when our super heroes present distressing behaviours that they have access to any member of the team they feel comfortable to talk to, counselling and access to specialist support.
