Admissions

We understand that you and your family may have found mainstream primary a little difficult to manage.

At Waterside, we work together to help your child improve their behaviours, access an individually focussed curriculum based upon your child's needs and if possible, create a supported pathway back to mainstream education.

We can only do this by working in partnership together.

We will offer you and your child all the support you need, including family workshops, therapies etc so that we can empower your super hero to be the best that they can be.

Below, you will find the pathways to accessing SEMH provision across the entire Borough as well as the general admissions procedures for the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

We are sometimes able to accept pupil's from outside of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. This is done in conjunction with your child's SEN team communicating directly with the SEN team at Greenwich. We are not able to accept 'casual admissions' due to the nature of our work.

If you have any questions, worries or just fancy a cup of tea and a chat, then contact Neal or Meic at the school, who will be happy to help. Their email address and phone numbers are on the school contact page.

Waterside SEMH Admissions Process

Appeals

We understand that on occasion an admission decision can feel brutal and unfair. If you have applied directly to the SEN Department within Greenwich - or your super hero's current home authority has, and you have been unsuccessful - you do have a right to appeal.

You can find the appeals process for the Royal Borough of Greenwich on the admissions page (the link is above) but we are also happy to provide it in paper copy for you as a school.

You can also use outside agencies such as SENDIASS - their details are here.

We are more than happy to discuss support that we can offer, even if you are not applying for a place at Waterside or King's Oak. Please feel free to get in touch and we will do our best to help.
