We were fortunate enough to remain open throughout the pandemic, with our pupils either accessing face to face education within the building, hybrid education via live links to lessons with their class or 1:1 hybrid lessons with staff or personalised intervention at home.
Our super heroes have many 'gaps' that need to be scaffolded and we have developed a programme of interventions to ensure that the key basics are cemented.
We are using Literacy Tree for our main literacy work, with staff performing the 'hook' lessons to engage super heroes to learn, Reading Wise to encourage a love of reading, comprehension and expression, Read Write Ink phonics to improve early literacy as well as more specialised input including Toe by Toe.
