We are sure that they will work tirelessly at improving our school even further.

  • Google!

    Fri 24 Feb 2017
We are so excited to welcome Google to our building on Wednesday March 22nd. They will be bringing some cutting edge computer equipment and we will be experiencing true 3D computing! We are the only special school in the entire UK to be given this opportunity - so we are so excited!
  • Red Nose Day

    Fri 24 Feb 2017
For Red Nose Day this year, we want to paint the town red! Come to school dressed in as much red as you can. There will be a prize for the most red person. Don't forget to bring a donation too as we'd like to raise a lot of money for this brilliant cause.
  • World Book Day

    Fri 24 Feb 2017
It's World Book Day next Thursday. We will be holding a wide variety of activities to celebrate books and language throughout the day. If you want to dress up as your favourite character, please do - but there is not pressure to do so.
  • And another lovely thank you

    Fri 10 Feb 2017

We received this today from ChiChi - thank you - it means a great deal to our team:

A very big thanks to all the teachers and pupils for an amazing and successful outing. Well done Mr.Griffiths. I am so proud of my superhero, Chib. Last year he wasn't allowed to go to the Young Voices concert because of his behaviour, but this year he has so much improved that he gave this concert 100% attention.
You would have seen him learning and practicing all the songs as soon as he comes back from school. Chib is so proud of himself and this has a positive effect on him. Thanks Waterside for all the efforts you put into shaping our superheroes for a better future. 👍👍❤❤💋

  • A lovely thank you

    Fri 10 Feb 2017 Mr. G.

We received a lovely Dojo from Alfie's mum this morning about Young Voices and she has allowed it to be shared with you all:

I want to say a massive thank you to all the staffthat rehursed with and worked towards taking thechildren young voices. This was a amazing experience for Alfie. He feels like a super star.
An experience many of our children won't get inmainstream.
    😊😊😊

  • O2 - Young Voices

    Wed 08 Feb 2017

Wow - what an amazing night!

Our super heroes, teachers and parents took part in the Young Voices event at the O2.

The singing was superb and the dancing and moves - well, second to none.

A huge thank you to everyone who made it a success and to Mrs Shotton for organising it!

  • Random Act of Kindness

    Wed 01 Feb 2017 Mr G.

As I was going to Cherry Orchard last night to peform at their INSET, my Uber driver (who was very chatty), told me he had done a little research about our school and the type of super heroes we play with.

He was in awe of how we help our super heroes, empowering them to handle their behaviours and become really useful members of society. He wanted me to pass on that he thinks you are an amazing bunch of people and there should be more like you in the world.

I thanked him (bit embarrassing being stuck in the back of a taxi and having plaudits thrown at you).

As I went to get out the cab, he gave me £5 as his random act of kindness for us to donate to charity on his behalf. Touched – wasn’t the word. I have given him an amazing rating on Uber and I am going to put this on our website. His name is Sulaimani – and it was so refreshing to meet someone who wanted to make the world a better place.
